**Warranty Update: As of January 1, 2019 ** Any performance transmission ordered/purchased on or after January 1, 2019 will not carry any type of warranty due to the nature of their use and our lack of control over their installation process. Upon request when ordered and prior to the build, customers can be furnished with a video of their transmission’s dyno testing.
All of our transmission builds are custom built to order. We rarely have “shelf” units due to the custom nature of our work. We give an estimate of build time at the time of the order. This is an ESTIMATE that is primarily based on how many units are ahead of your order on the list. Most of the transmissions we build use aftermarket components that are not always readily available (i.e. billet shafts, custom built valve bodies, low volume manually machined components, Super Drums, etc.). We can only give an estimate based on experience of how long it takes to get the parts and how many units we have to build. We try to build all transmissions in the order they were purchased. Sometimes we will skip over a unit that we are waiting on parts for to keep a steady flow going, so a transmission we estimated for 10 weeks may get built in 6 weeks, or it may take 16 weeks. The delivery time for custom components that we buy from other vendors is out of our control. We require a 25% non-refundable down payment when we take your order to get you in line on the build list and start ordering the parts for your specific build. When we are ready to begin work on your unit, we will contact you for the remainder of your payment, THEN we begin work on the transmission. After your transmission has been through our dyno successfully, we will call you to arrange shipping and get the payment for that amount or to arrange for you to pick-up, if that option has been chosen. Many items that we use often we keep in inventory. Please be aware of this when you order. Your order is an acknowledgement that you accept that the delivery time is an estimate and not a guaranteed shipping date, as we are dependent upon our suppliers for most parts.
Once an order is placed and the build begins, the sale is final. NO refunds or exchanges.
Warranty information for products other than performance transmissions:
No merchandise will be accepted for return without explicit permission from Jake’s Performance. Any suspected defective parts must be returned directly to Jake’s Performance. Any merchandise returned must be returned freight prepaid for inspection and credit will be issued dependent upon the findings. Due to the custom nature of our products, refunds will be given at our discretion, where a replacement part is not available. There will be no refunds on converters as they are each custom built to the individual combo and not easily reconfigured for another customer.
Cancellations, Refunds, and Returns on Products other than Performance Transmissions:
No merchandise will be accepted for return without explicit permission from Jake’s Performance. Any merchandise returned must be returned freight prepaid. Due to the custom nature of our products, refunds will be given at our discretion. There will be a 15% administrative fee on any orders refunded, either order cancellation prior to shipping, after shipping, or items being returned. Upon your order being processed, we incur credit card fees, order processing labor, parts restocking labor, etc. that will be deducted from your refund to recoup part of those costs due to your cancellation for whatever reason, after you’ve already paid and started the process. There will be no refunds on converters as they are each custom built to the individual combo and not easily reconfigured for another customer.
CREDIT CARD CHARGEBACKS/FUNDS REVERSALS
If at any point, a customer decides that they want to do a chargeback or reversal of a credit card payment they’ve made to us, instead of speaking to us and settling an issue. They will be charged an additional $300 for administrative fees for the time and resources used to dispute the chargeback. This will also result in the customer no longer having the option to make future purchases using any payment method other than cash or a USPS postal money order. In most cases, the customer will no longer have the option to purchase anything from our company in the future.
Jake’s Performance, upon inspection, and determination of either poor materials and/or workmanship defects, will repair or replace parts in question. This Warranty does not cover damage to engine or other parts, personal injury, labor or any other damage or injury. It also does not cover any work performed by another person or entity. It does not cover your time, fuel, tires, use of another vehicle while waiting, or any other unlisted things. Our warranty covers our product ONLY and ONLY if it hasn’t been tampered with by another person or entity, without our prior approval or knowledge.
All transmissions, converters, and parts are shipped with insurance. Any shipping damage claims must be made with the freight company. PLEASE inspect the shipment before signing for it. Once you sign for it, the freight companies WILL deny your claim and you have accepted responsibility for any damage. Also, please take lots of pictures of the box on all sides, the shipping materials, and the products inside. The freight companies all will want pictures and possibly to come inspect it themselves before giving credit or refunds.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY ON THE FOLLOWING:
- Any product that has been physically altered, improperly installed or maintained.
- Any product used in an improper application, abused or not used in connection with the proper parts.
- Any product that is defective due to accident, neglect or unauthorized repair.
- Any product where proper cooling and/or fluid levels have not been maintained.
- Removal or replacement costs, fluids, or shipping costs.
- Damage to any other related components.
- Any other costs incurred.
- If you are refusing delivery because you no longer want the items you ordered, we will not accept a return if you have opened the packaging. Period.
- Any performance transmission ordered/purchased on or after January 1, 2019
There is no implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Jake’s Performance LLC. obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of its products. There are no warranties that extend beyond the description on the face of this warranty. Jake’s Performance will not be responsible for incidental or consequential damages, property damage or personal damages to the extent permitted by law. If there is, by law, an implied warranty of merchantability and/or fitness, they are limited to the warranty term set forth above and start from the date of the original purchase. This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other legal rights, which vary from state to state or country to country.
