Our experience in the Turbo Buick community as well as building the 200-4R for retrofit applications has allowed us to become one of the noted builders in the country for these units. Many people have unfortunately discovered that the 200-4R requires a builder who know's these transmissions. It has been proven that there are many good builders on other units who cannot get the 200-4R to work right or live.
The 200-4R is an excellent unit for retrofit. It's physical size and length as well as output spline count make it a very easy retrofit in place of the short tailshaft TH350. We have installed the 200-4R in Chevelles, 1st and 2nd Generation Camaro's, Pontiac GTO's, Firebirds, pickups, RX7s, Datsun Z cars, and other applications.

Another great feature of the 200-4R that makes it a better choice in many retrofits is the gear ratios. It has a greater overdrive ratio (.67:1) and an excellent 1st gear ratio (2.74:1) and 1-2 ratio change.
It is our preferred low cost OD retrofit.

Street 200-4R (Stage I):
All new soft parts, clutches, filter, lockup solenoid (if applicable), larger .500 boost valve, chromoly pump rings, V8 servo, Raybestos Pro-Series band, blueprinted pump with heat treated stator, hardened sun shell, lathe polished direct drum, valve body mods for better clutch clamping and firmer shifts. Includes our install kit below at no additional charge.

Stage II 200-4R:
All the features of the Street model but also includes a billet forward drum (most common hard part failure), billet servo and anchor pin and deep pan to make it reliable at up to 550 HP/TQ .
Additonal hard parts allow greater power capacity. We use select valve body cores for our Stage II units that allow for 5000-6000 rpm WOT upshifts. We will need your desired shift rpm to calibrate the transmission.
Fixed line pressure available to eliminate the TV cable controlling line pressure.

One of the most common questions we have encountered has been about TV cable setup.
We have a TV cable tech info page under the Transmission Tech portion of the site. This may help to answer some of the questions and alleviate some of the fear of the TV system.
However we sell the parts to help you setup the TV cable and install your new OD transmission with the least amount of confusion.
Our install kit will include a new heavy duty fully adjustable TV cable, universal locking dipstick, TV cable geometry corrector for either a Holley or Edelbrock carburetor, TV cable mounting bracket, and dust shield.
Q-jets in many cases have the proper geometry depending on year model. Please call about your Q-jet applications. We may ask that you email us a pic of the throttle linkage on the side of your carb to verify it is correct.
